Production for print

As with all projects, the process starts with a creative brief.

Data creation and prep

Once the brief has been outlined, we work on the data prep. If the CAD data is supplied it is cleaned and any soft areas like seats, dash, carpets and cubby boxes are modelled to add realism.

Stitching is also added to any areas which may need it. We ask that the client always provides us with as much reference material as possible to avoid problems in product sign off.

Interiors: Configurable still renders

Each modelled element is tagged and identified for ease of use at the compositing stage.

Vehicles often have various combinations which need to be configured.

When all elements are tagged, the texture and shader creation stage is started and each texture signed off by the client.

Interiors: Final image

The rendered final Image is 100% configurable in Photoshop, which gives us a degree of adjustability in final postproduction.

The file is then exported out to a predetermined format and size.

Getting it exactly right

Product correctness is first and foremost.

We tag and label each asset so if any future changes are made we can easily find the part and make the change needed.

The backdrop

Sometimes we are asked to composite a completely new background for the image.

The background featured in this image is actually several images composed together to make this final scene.

Integration

Once the vehicle/product has been signed off we start integrating the model and match up the camera angles.

We like to work closely with the photographer so he can help with any preproduction and postproduction information we require such as HDRI material lens and camera positions.

Final imagery

The hi-res image goes through a final retouching stage and is then sent to client for final review and sign off.
